Bedtime routines and Bedtime expectations

Children this age still need 10-12 hours of sleep at night so it’s important to establish healthy bedtime routines and expectations.

It’s also very developmentally appropriate for children at this age to test boundaries. Working with your child to create a positive bedtime environment will help get your child on board with healthy sleep habits.

Transitions

Children experience a lot of transitions in this age, including 2-1 naps, 1-0 naps, and transitioning from crib to bed.

Understanding these transitions and setting your child up for success will be a valuable tool for sustaining healthy sleep.

Your Goals, Your Pace

We will work on all the basic areas of healthy sleep together, but we will focus on YOUR goals.  What is most important to your family?

We will go at your pace. Do you want to see fast results? Do you prefer gentler methods? You will set the tone for what you feel comfortable with, and we will create a plan from there.

common questions

These packages work best for toddlers and preschoolers, approximately 17 months to 5 years.

If you have a child and you’re unsure if baby or toddler package is more appropriate, schedule a discovery call and we can figure it out together.

If you have a child 4 months- 16 months, I recommend looking at the Baby Packages.

If your child’s adjusted age is much younger than 4 months, consider a Newborn package to help set those healthy sleep foundations.

The packages differ in the level of support.

Basic packages include 2 weeks of phone support. You can sign up for a total of ten scheduled 15-minute phone calls. This is great for those who want to try to do it themselves and just need an occasional check in for questions.

The premium package offers more frequent and faster support with the use of text, email, and/or Voxer support. This is great for those who want their questions answered throughout the day. I will be available to respond 8:00AM – 8:00PM EST. In this way, I can respond to your questions in a timely matter each day. You may also schedule phone calls.

The extended support is great for families who are using gentler methods or have a lot of changes to implement. Toddlers and preschoolers tend to take a little more time to adjust to new routines than babies do.

In most cases, no.

However, some FSAs (Flexible Spending Account) do cover it under Newborn Care Services. Call you FSA before to find out if they will cover some of the cost.

Yes!

For those who don’t feel as though they require the full 2 weeks of support, I offer Ask Me Anything Calls.

For those pregnant or with newborns, I offer a newborn support package.

Find these in the Other Services page.

Absolutely! We will discuss the needs of your child and work together to create a sleep plan that works for your breastfeeding family.

We will work together to create a plan that best suits your baby and your family.

Every child is unique and responds to changes in his/her own way. When changing a little one’s routine, there may be crying. It is how they communicate!

We will collaborate during the consult to come up with a plan that you feel comfortable with. We will go at the pace you need. You will be there to set them up for success and support them in learning this amazing new skill.

Every family and child is unique so a set time cannot be guaranteed.  However, families who are consistent with implementing the plan often see positive changes within 7 days.

Gentler methods tend to take a little bit longer.

Since we are working with a little person, I cannot make guarantees.

When families are consistent with the plan, they will see positive results.

If gentler methods are being used, two weeks many not be enough time to reach a final goal. If a family would like continued support, it is available at the cost of $100 per extra week as needed.

You will want to begin the plan when:

  • Your child is healthy
  • You have no upcoming trips/big holidays
  • You have spoken to your pediatrician and have no health concerns
  • You are ready to consistently implement a plan

Every child, family and situation are different. Families also have different goals.

However with that being said, many families can expect:

  • sleeping through the night
  • learning when and how to stay in own bedroom
  • taking longer nap or extending quiet time
  • enjoyable bedtime routines
  • healthier, happier, and well-rested families

Voxer is a free app that allows “walkie talkie” communication. It combines voice, text, photo and video messages. We can easily and instantly communicate  – live or later.

Some people find Voxer easier to communicate using the voice messaging rather than text/email but it is optional.
